Project Overview

Empowering Youth in West Timor through Education & Vocation

Imagine changing schools but not being able to read or write. You easily fall behind and want to drop out. The only life left is one of extreme poverty and you maybe even fall into exploitation. This is the reality for many children in West Timor, and the New Hope Foundation is trying to combat this with its new Trade School program.

Training struggling students in Agriculture and Culinary Arts has given children a new outlook on their future! Students gain hands-on experience in sustainable farming and organic food production or advancement in culinary skills, preparing them to support their families, strengthen their communities, and live out their faith through meaningful work. All this is done on a solid Christian foundation – one of loving the creation and good gifts that our heavenly Father has provided.

We have recently added Sewing and Welding training options, and our goal is to raise $75,000 to maintain the program for 2026/27.

Prayer Requests

Highlights

Continued collaboration between Agriculture and Culinary students strengthened understanding of farm-to-table concepts.
Students were encouraged to reflect on how faith shapes work ethic, responsibility, and service to others.
Agricultural produce continued to be shared and sold locally, strengthening relationships with the surrounding community.
